About This Site
The Health Psychology Home page is a labor of love. It is a noncommercial site that is dedicated to helping people learn the facts about things that can affect their health. I do not exchange links and there is no advertising. My goal with this page is to help people find objective information about their health.
| The papers were written by students. I believe almost all of the students tried their best to develop an informative and accurate web page. | |
| The papers are published as written. You will sometimes find grammatical errors, and sometimes there are errors in content and judgment. | |
| Not all students got an A. The quality of the pages will vary considerably as some students have done an excellent job while others did as little work as they could to get by. | |
| The opinions expressed are the opinions of the student. They do not reflect the position of Dr. Schlundt or of Vanderbilt University. | |
| During the course, students learned how to access, read, and write about scientific literature. The assignment for most of the papers was to: 1) identify what claims people are making about a product or treatment on the web, 2) go to the scientific literature and see if you can evaluate these claims, 3) draw a conclusion about the known facts. | |
| Some of the students were more critical in their thinking than others. Even though I told the students at the beginning of the semester that just because they find something in writing, does not make it true, some of the students did not necessarily heed my warning. | |
| I hope these pages will be a resource to people who are trying to find out the facts about things that influence their health. The site is intended to be an alternative to product advertising sites and the papers are intended to be more objective. |
